Command and Conquer Tiberium Alliances
Command and Conquer Tiberium Alliances is a latest browser free online strategy game and part of the Command & Conquer franchise. We have a choice of joining one of the two factions – Brotherhood of Nod and Global Defense Initiative. Command and Conquer Tiberium Alliances offer enjoyable gameplay, and several original ideas. Ready for another Tiberium war?
During the game, we are managing the base; player collects resources, develop powerful technologies and raise an army. First of all, players need to pick a faction to join. There are the two unique factions, Brotherhood of Nod (NOD) and Global Defense Initiative (GDI). Like in other online strategy games for free, at the start, tutorial helps us during the first steps with the game.
On the beginning, player must build solid infrastructure for the sake of economy growth. Harvesters are used to collect Tiberium and Crystals, which are essential to construct buildings and hire troops. There is also resource “energy”, which is obtained from the power plants. To make the base prosper, player must manage our resources wisely. Once player collected enough resources, he must build a Command Center and Defense Headquarter, which are essential to construct defensive and offensive units. Some units are only used to defend our base, while some are used only during the offensive battles. Recruitment system is based on special “Army Points”, which are received from constant Command Center. The more we have these points – bigger army we can gather. “Command Points” are used to pay for each attack on enemy base. These points run out quickly, so once player run out, he cannot attack until these points are replenished.
Of course like in other free online strategy games, we have to socialize with other players for our own sake. Joining or creating successful and strong alliance is very important part of the gameplay, so we should join one, especially when our “newbie protection time” ends.
Battle and visuals
First battle in Command and Conquer Tiberium Alliances is simple, while player is using only 2 units. To start out military action, player can attack the mutated humans, known as The Forgotten, that are nearby. They set up bases in player territory periodically; after reaching level 10, they start building bases nearby, creating more challenging missions to liquidate.
Battle occurs in real time, however we can’t control our units directly – player can just set, the order in which they attack. Battlefield is divided into nine “paths”, which may attack our units, while our army can be split into four waves up. The key is to set the specific units to be effective against a certain enemy units and this way win the battle. It’s original idea, yet it’s making battles repetitive and boring after some time.
During the game we can research and unlock, over 20 unique units; militias, commandos, Avatar robot or Salamandra vehicle. Interface is well designed, intuitive and helps a lot during the game, even there is a lot of everything – stats, data or buttons. Initially, this may be slightly overwhelming, yet after some time you can get used to it.
Flaws? Command and Conquer Tiberium Alliances has two significant weaknesses – first of all, it’s repetitive, during the game, but especially during the combat. Other weakness is slow progression. Gathering resources, leveling up and developing researches is eating a lot of time. These negative sides of the game are making C&C boring, however it’s still good game to from time to time.
